The Libraphos series of phosphate esters from Libra Speciality Chemicals are anionic surfactants, suitable for use in a wide range of applicants and industries. The Libraphos series are 100% active anionic surfactants and are based on alcohols, aromatic ethoxylates or alcohol ethoxylates.

Libraphos phosphate esters are manufactured by either a polyphosphoric acid route giving predominantly mono esters or by a phosphorous pentoxide route to give predominantly di-esters. These phosphate esters can then be neutralised to achieve a variety of salts. The Libraphos series of surfactants may be used in a number of applications due to their stability at high temperatures or in acidic or alkaline conditions. These attributes offer significant advantages over other surfactants.

The Libraphos phosphate ester series are used in a wide range of industries and applications. You will find the anionic surfactant in alkaline detergent, metal working fluids, emulsion polymerisation, anti-wear and agricultural formulations. 

They are resistant to hydrolysis by hot alkalis and are also stable in acid solution at high temperatures.  Phosphate esters have been widely used in emulsion polymerisation, and metal finishing and over many years in the Textile Industry as lubricants, emulsifiers, wetting agents and as dye bath additives. They can be used in detergents for the solubilisation of non-ionics in high concentrations of electrolyte and in agriculture they are used as emulsifying agents and dispersing agents in herbicides.
