Libra Speciality Chemicals Ltd has leapt forward in its journey to become one of the most sustainable chemical companies in the industry by calculating and publishing its first full Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory, covering the 2024 calendar year. Libra has not attempted this complex data-gathering exercise before and is now looking to build on it by working with the supply chain to calculate product-level carbon footprints that can be shared with our customers. The chemical industry is the third most polluting sector (behind energy generation and agriculture), so there is a huge challenge ahead to reach Net Zero by 2050.
Libra is also working with the supply chain to be able to offer our valued customers lower-carbon products, so if you are interested in reducing your Scope 3, Category 1 carbon emissions by purchasing Libra’s products, get in touch at sales@librachem.co.uk.
